Photo Contest Guidelines and Mechanics
Participants
Who can join the contest?
• The contest is open to all 16-30 year old residents of municipalities within the Meralco franchise area.
• Meralco employees, families and relatives of Meralco employees up to 4th degree of consanguinity or affinity may not join the contest.
• Entrant must be the original photographer of the entry. He/she may not submit an entry on behalf of someone else.
• A person is entitled to a maximum of one entry only. A participant can submit several photos within the contest period as long as he keeps only one entry and deletes the rest by the end of the submission period. A participant with more than one entries posted on the TechKNOWlogy wall by the end of the submission period will be automatically disqualified.

Photo Entries
What are the requirements for a photo to qualify in the contest?
• The entry must reflect the theme which is Meralco’s tagline “Ang liwanag ng bukas.”
• Entries cannot contain any nudity, obscenity, defamatory statements, or other offensive or objectionable content.
• The photo must be taken using a DIGITAL camera.
• Entries must be at least 640 by 480 pixels in JPEG format.
• Entrant may not add text nor sign the photograph.
• The photograph must not have time and/or date stamps.
• Rectangular cropping, rotation and resizing of image are allowed. Other forms of editing are not allowed.
• All entries must not have been published elsewhere at any time nor been used in other photo contests. Meralco will not be held liable in case other parties claim rights to the photo.
• All submitted photos will become property of Meralco.

• Entrant must also send a personal message to Meralco TechKNOWlogy with the following details: entry title, complete name, mailing addres, ID number of any valid identification card. Subject of the message must be "Ang liwanag ng bukas." The same Facebook user account used to submit an entry must be used to send the personal message.
• Submission of entries starts on January 9, 2011 and ends at 11:59 p.m. on February 28, 2011.
How do I submit my photo?

Winners
• Three winners will be chosen and will get cash prizes.
1st Prize: P10,000
2nd Prize: P8,000
3rd Prize: P5,000
• Winners will be announced on Facebook on March 18, 2011.
• The winners will also be notified through registered mail and will be invited to the awarding.
• Prizes may be claimed at the Meralco Ortigas Office during the awarding on March 25, 2011.
• Winners who cannot attend the awarding on March 25, 2011 may claim their prize within 60 days after receipt of notice through registered mail.
• For provincial winners, prizes will be delivered to them to the registered mailing address.
• All winners will be asked to present their valid ID (whose ID number was submitted upon registration of entry) to claim their prize.
• The best 10 photos will be displayed in an exhibit.
• Three winners will be chosen and will get cash prizes.
